Kia to Show Off 2012 Rio

Although Hyundai may be making a few more headlines with their unbridled sales successes of late, another Korean manufacturer is doing quite well without the limelight: Kia.

Already populating showrooms with a freshly bolstered lineup of dramatically improved vehicles, Kia will be adding to the current crop with the new version of one of their most popular models, the Rio, at this year’s Geneva auto show.

Small, versatile, and well proportioned, the new Rio promises to fulfill the same role as the previous model, albeit with a healthy dose of modernity added to the mix. But, for all its handsome good looks, the biggest news is definitely underhood, where Kia has a variety of different engines available including a very interesting 1.2 litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged motor equipped with direct injection. Promising to be a real fuel-sipper, the three cylinder may find its way to North America, depending on its success in the European market.
