Hyundai Working with Samsung to Integrate Tablets with Cars

It’s only a matter of time before it becomes de rigueur for automotive manufacturers to include personal tablets in their vehicles. When you think about it, it’s surprising that it hasn’t already happened.

But, if you believe the rumours, that might not be the case for much longer, with Hyundai reportedly discussing the idea with electronics giant Samsung. Although multiple reports are conflicting in their details, it would seem apparent that Hyundai is preparing to develop a system which will allow owners to tether their mobile devices to an integrated Hyundai-developed tablet device built by Samsung. Wireless internet and infotainment would be combined within the tablet device, which could then be removed from the vehicle for portable use. With the deal apparently looming on the very near horizon, such a device may be closed than you think.
