Lotus Sending of Last Elises, Exiges with Final Edition

Published on April 16, 2011 in New Models by Dan Fritter

It would appear that Lotus, in light of their new direction, have put their wildly popular Elise and Exige models on the chopping block. Small, lithe, and spartan, the two sports car singlehandedly brought the iconic British marquee back from the brink of dismal failure, but no longer fit alongside the brand’s future Ferrari-fighting stable of upcoming models.

So, in fitting form, the Malaysian-owned Lotus brand has decided to send their most popular cars off into the sunset in grand fashion with a pair of Final Editions. However, for North American customers, the options will be limited to just the Final Edition of the Elise… of which only 15 examples will be made available. Fully loaded and painted in one of four schemes based upon the paint schemes of the European market Club Racer cars, the Final Edition will undoubtedly prove popular among collectors.
