Dodge Charger Mopar '11 Edition: SEMA Show-esque

Published on April 22, 2011 in New York by Gilles Olivier

Chrysler’s marketing team seems to think that the New York Auto Show is like the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) in Las Vegas, which is the annual meeting for American modified car enthusiasts.

Mopar, Chrysler’s parts and accessories division, usually likes to present this kind of car – like the Dodge Charger Mopar Edition – in Las Vegas, but this time they’re unveiling it in New York.

Other than the stylish Mopar accessories, this tuned version of the Dodge Charger features a 5.7-litre V8 HEMI engine that develops 370 horsepower and 395 lbs-ft of torque for the occasion. It’s paired with a five-speed automatic transmission, which makes it powerful enough to go from 0 to 100 km/h in less than five seconds.

In total, 1,000 units of this car will be produced, with 900 destined for our neighbours to the south and 100 earmarked for the Canadian market.
