Next-Gen Ford Fusion Hybrid: 4.9L/100 km?

Published on June 16, 2011 in Electric by Dan Fritter

Although it may already be a class-leading automobile worthy of the various accolades heaped upon it, Ford knows that following up this current generation Ford Fusion with a worthy and improved successor is the single most important thing they need to do. After all, all the inroads they’ve made with the public courtesy of the handsome mid-size sedan will be for naught if the next one can’t match the same level of impressiveness.

But obviously, being their most important car, Ford is playing their cards extremely close to their chest when it comes to details. However, according to a report from Ford Inside News, the next-generation Ford Fusion Hybrid will debut with a fuel mileage rating of 5.0, or 4.9L litres per hundred. How it’s going to do that is anyone’s guess, but such a rating would certainly help the already class-leading sedan retain its fuel miser crown.
