Ferrari Selling Less Red

Published on July 3, 2011 in News by Dan Fritter

There is no brand that is as synonymous with a colour as Ferrari is with that oh-so-identifiable, so flamboyant, so perfectly Italian shade of red. In fact, the two went together so absolutely that during the 90’s, Ferrari buyers were opting for the lustrous rosso finishes atop their Ferraris 85% of the time.

However, times have changed. And although it’s probably not out of a desire to be a bit lower-key in light of the recent recession, Ferrari buyers have significantly reduced the amount of red in their driveways. In fact, according to Ferrari, just 45% of Ferrari buyers opt for the familiar shade. The rest now opt for any number of Ferrari’s production colours, or order their vehicle in any particular hue desired courtesy of Ferrari’s still relatively new colour-matching service.
