Android Finally Coming to a Car Near You!

Published on July 17, 2011 in News by Dan Fritter

For a while now, Android has been the hot commodity on the smartphone market. Outselling Apple’s popular devices and Rim’s less-popular devices, possibly the last hurdle that lays between Android and complete smart-device domination has been the relatively small amount of support it has in other industries.

But Harmon International plans to break down at least one of those hurdles, when they release their upcoming vehicle infotainment system, that incorporates Android software. Allowing users to share their tablets’ and smartphones’ functionality with their automobiles, the system will be the first of its kind when it is released whenever a manufacturer decides to buy into it.
