Ferrari 599XX Evoluzione Revealed

Published on December 12, 2011 in New Models by Dan Fritter

If you're filthy, disgustingly, ridiculously wealthy, you probably already know about the 599XX. Picking up where the old Enzo-based FXX Evoluzione left off, the 599XX continued Ferrari's relatively new customer racing program, promising buyers the opportunity to lap racetracks around the world with the full support of the Ferrari factory behind them. But, just like full-blown race cars, Ferrari hasn't exactly been able to rest on their laurels when it comes to the program, as customers are continuously asking for faster and faster cars and even more factory support.

Costing roughly $250,000 more than a standard 599XX package, the Evoluzione includes a two year extension of the "test sessions" as well as a host of aerodynamic and performance upgrades that bring a further 30 horsepower to bear from the 6.0L V12 engine. The culmination of these changes? A 1-second reduction in lap times around Ferrari's Fiorano test track... and some serious bragging rights.
