Ferrari F12 Berlinetta To Replace the 599 GTB Fiorano
At the beginning of the week, word was that a Ferrari 620 GT would replace the 599 GTB Fiorano.
But in the end, the substitute will be called the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
Joint effort with Pininfarina
The car’s spaceframe chassis is made of aluminum, while composite materials were used for the body.
The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta is slightly heftier, weighing in at 1525 kg – that’s 70 kg more than the 599 GTB Fiorano.
The car’s exterior design is the result of a joint effort between the brand’s Design Department and coachbuilder Pininfarina. Its drag coefficient is 0.29.
This seductive high-performance sport coupe integrates an innovative approach to aerodynamics called “Aero Bridge,” which channels air through a gap in the hood to reduce drag.
The model shown here features three coats of the brand’s sweetheart colour, Rosso Corsa.
Classic Ferrari interior
Much like the 599 GTB Fiorano, this newcomer can only accommodate two very classy passengers.
The dashboard has been totally redesigned. However, Ferrari fans will have no trouble getting used to the different functionalities.
It’s all under the hood
Ferrari’s best is always under the hood, and the F12 Berlinetta is no exception.
It features a front-mounted engine.
Specifically, this vehicle is equipped with a monstrous V12 with added displacement and extra power compared to its predecessor.
- Ferrari F12 Berlinetta: 6.3L V12 producing 740 horsepower and 509 lbs.-ft. of torque
- Ferrari 599 GTB: 6.0L V12 producing 620 horsepower and 448 lbs.-ft. of torque
The engine is mated to a dual-clutch transmission.
