Chevrolet’s 2014 Impala and 2013 Traverse: Unveiled

Today, at the New York Auto Show, Chevrolet will be shining the spotlight on the 2014 edition of its Impala sedan and the freshly updated 2013 Traverse crossover.

The 2014 model will mark the 10th generation of the Impala, which first rolled into view in 1958. This car has rarely made headlines in recent years – neither good nor bad.

In an attempt to gain an edge in its category, this full-size American sedan is finally classing it up a bit. And though many may think of this segment as a bunch of granddaddy vehicles, you can’t deny that there is a sizeable market for this type of vehicle in the U.S.

The 2013 Traverse

Built on the same platform as its cousins, the Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia, the Traverse is due for a major overhaul.

At the moment, very little information has been released about the upcoming model. However, we’ve been informed that it will feature a front centre airbag that inflates between the two passengers in side-impact collisions.

If it’s any indication, GMC introduced the new 2013 Acadia at the recent Chicago Auto Show. It boasted modest style improvements, an updated interior and a more powerful and fuel efficient powertrain.
