Jaguar Confirms Upcoming F-Type!

Published on April 6, 2012 in New Models by Dan Fritter

After years of promising to bring a true sports car to the market, Jaguar has finally gone on the record and said that the recent C-X16 concept will see a production line at some point in the near future. Changing to nomenclature to the much more correct (and simple) F-type, the new car will lose the concept's hardtop coupe layout in favour of the much more traditional roadster construction, but Jaguar is quick to mention that the launch of the F-type as a roadster doesn't discount the eventual offering of a coupe model as well. Designed by Ian Callum, the same man that brought the world the recent crop of Aston Martin designs, it's sure to be a looker, and will bring an entirely new line of powertrain options to the Jaguar family, including the supercharged 3.0L V6 hybrid combination under the concept's hood. Citing performance and driver engagement levels that begin where the XKR-S leaves off, we can only hope that Jaguar finally realizes their sporting pedigree's potential with this new car!
