Mercedes-Benz Concept Style Coupe: A little CLS

Published on April 23, 2012 in Beijing by Gilles Olivier

We’ve long been hearing rumblings about Mercedes-Benz’s plan to offer a four-door coupe – the CLS’s little sister.

Finally, it seems as though this model is being developed and will join the fully revamped A-Class family, which will include several different versions.

The proof will be in the pudding when the Concept Style Coupe is unveiled this week at the Beijing International Motor Show.

Concept Style Coupe

This car stands out with its exceptional style. And don’t be deceived, it actually has a lot of window space, including a large panoramic roof.

This concept is the harbinger of the production model, expected to be available next year. As a seductive four-door coupe, it will squeeze in among the new A-Class entry-level models and the C-Class sedan.

At Mercedes-Benz, the B-Class minivan is part of an entirely different niche designed with a very specific clientele in mind.

At 4,637 mm long, 1,891 mm wide and just 1,398 mm high, the production model is expected to go head-to-head with the upcoming Audi A3 sedan.

Vehicle interior

The concept car can only take four passengers – each of whom gets their own separate seat. The seats are made from a single piece with integrated headrests.

It features a sport sedan cabin complete with carbon fibre accents.

All-wheel drive

This attractive concept car is equipped with a 2.0L four-cylinder turbo engine that produces 211 horsepower.

It’s paired with the impressive 7G-DCT dual-clutch transmission.

Mercedes-Benz’s 4MATIC all-wheel drive system is also included.
