J.D. Power survey gives Lexus crown once more, Jaguar leaps 18 Places to second
For eons, Lexus has made J.D. Power's annual Initial Quality Survey almost a foregone conclusion. Winning year after year after year, it become a contest of who could place second, with numerous competitors repeatedly earning the vaunted second place title only to see themselves replaced the following year. And so to it is this year, with Lexus again placing at the foremost position for the second consecutive year.
Which once again makes the second place finisher the big news... and that's a title that's gone to Jaguar... and Porsche. With "just" 75 problems per 100, the British brand has tied perennial favourite Porsche, but has vaulted a whopping 18 positions over last year to land there. Interestingly, Jaguar's stablemate Land Rover hasn't enjoyed similar success, and still resides in the lower quadrant of the survey; sharing space with Dodge, Mitsubishi, Volkwagen, Mini, Fiat, and smart. However, at the other end of the spectrum, Jaguar and Porsche find themselves leading a pack consisting of Cadillac, Honda, Acura, Infiniti, Toyota, Mercedes, BMW, Mazda, GMC, Nissan, Ram, Chevrolet, Audi, Buick, Hyundai, Kia, Lincoln, Volvo, Subaru, Jeep, Suzuki, Chrysler and Scion, in that order.
