All-New 2013 Toyota RAV4 To Debut In Los Angeles

Toyota will be releasing the all-new, fourth-generation edition of its popular RAV4 compact crossover vehicle at the Los Angeles Auto Show next week. The Toyota RAV4 has been a major hit in Canada, with Toyota Canada boasting that 90 percent of all examples sold over the course of the past 15 years are still plying suburban roads and inter-city highways.

What changes can we look forward to when the new 2013 Toyota RAV4 is revealed to the public in a week's time? Although the general profile of the SUV shouldn't change all that much, a revised front end will likely adopt a more angular appearance, in keeping with recent redesigns of other Toyota products like the Camry. Perhaps the biggest rumoured difference between the upcoming model and the RAV4 of old is the potential elimination of the third row of seating, which would shift the Toyota into the five-passenger category and remove its badge of honour as one of the few small seven-passenger crossovers on the market.

Under the hood, the status quo will be maintained with the choice between a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine good for just under 180 horses, with the option of a 268 horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6. All-wheel drive will remain available, and a six-speed automatic transmission will make an appearance as well. The RAV4 will get its first turn in the public eye on November 28, 2012 in Los Angeles, CA.
