Hyundai Veloster C3 Roll Top Concept: French-style convertible

For decades now, Citroën has been the retractable top convertible specialist, notably thanks to its legendary 2CV.  Since last year, the popular DS3 is offered in a retractable soft top convertible version.

Today, Hyundai has adopted this original and inexpensive formula for its Veloster C3 Roll Top concept car.

The three-door convertible coupe with downward-opening hatch offers remarkable versatility.  The floor of the cargo section is made from tiles issued from recycled skateboards.

Designed by the company’s North American Design Centre, located in California, this original design is equipped with an electrical soft top, allowing it to easily transform itself into a recreational vehicle capable of transporting a fixed-gear bicycle.

Nowadays, fixed-gear bicycles are becoming ever more popular in big cities.  Their minimalist design includes a single fixed gear and, in some instances, no brakes.  These units are hand-built.

Turbo engine

The mechanical side of the Veloster C3 Roll Top Concept includes a 1.6 litre turbocharged GDI mill generating 201 hp.
