sche Cayman: the new generation finally unveiled

Published on June 28, 2012 in Los Angeles by Gilles Olivier

Following in the footsteps of the completely redesigned 2013 Porsche Boxster, the Los Angeles Auto Show was the chosen site for the launch of the Cayman coupe, which shares the basic underpinnings and mechanics with the roadster.

Aesthetically, the new coupe remains loyal to the family’s legendary lines, all the while
benefitting from a sharper, more aggressive front end.  The same can be said for the rear end, which gets redesigned taillights.

More powerful engines

As in the past, the 2013 Porsche Cayman makes use of the same powerplants as the Boxster, meaning :

-    2.7 L boxer H6 generating 265 hp and 206 lb-ft of torque;
-    3.4 L boxer H6 pumping out 315 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque.

Two transmissions offered :

-    Six-speed manual;
-    Seven-speed automatic.

The 2013 Porsche Cayman 2013 is set to hit dealer floors in the spring of 2013.
