BMW X4 Concept To Be Unveiled In Detroit

This coming January, BMW will be unveiling a new crossover utility vehicle at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan.  Dubbed the X4, the SUV will slot into the narrow space that exists between the current compact BMW X3 and mid-size BMW X4 crossovers.

The BMW X4 concept is intended to attract the same type of customers who are enthralled by the 'four-door coupe' profile of the much larger BMW X6.  This means a plunging rear roofline and the decision to give up interior volume for the sake of style.  Mechanically, the X4 will share the same drivetrain and overall platform as the successful X3.

Like all BMW SUVs, the BMW X4 Concept, once it hits production, will be assembled at the brand's Spartanburg facility in South Carolina.
