Lexus has confirmed that it will be unveiling the latest version of its entry-level IS sedan at the Detroit Auto Show in January.  The vehicle now rides on a shortened version of the new Lexus GS mid-size sedan.  From a styling standpoint, the 2014 IS draws heavily from the LF-CC concept car, while the interior resembles that of the CT 200h hybrid.

Two New Motors

In addition to featuring a new V6 under the hood, the redesigned Lexus IS will offer a hybrid drivetrain for the very first time.  The setup makes use of a 2.5-liter, Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine that has been turbocharged and which works together with a battery-powered electric motor to generate roughly 200 horsepower.

Production versions of the 2014 Lexus IS will go on sale in the summer of 2013.
