Acura RLX: After the concept, the production car

Published on January 15, 2013 in Montreal by The Car Guide

It’s in Montreal that Acura will reveal its luxury sedan, the RLX. It replaces the RL whose sales were merely a trickle here. Instead of creating a “Wow!” factor through its bodywork, the RLX bets on high levels of luxury and comfort to seduce buyers.

Its engine is a 3.5 litre V6, good for 310 horsepower, backed by an all-wheel-drive drive train that promises to be up to the task. Indeed, some versions will feature the Sport Hybrid Super Handling All Wheel Drive (Sport Hybrid SH-AWD), a very sophisticated system that features electric motors.  While in the high-tech gear, let’s mention the P-AWS, another impressive system that allows the rear wheels to steer.
