Acura NSX: happiness at all four wheels

Published on January 14, 2013 in Detroit by Alain Morin

Last year, everyone was breathtaken by the superb Acura NSX concept.  This year, at the Detroit auto show, Acura unveiled the second generation of the concept.

We don’t know much about this secretive beauty, except that chances are the production version will closely follow the styling put forward by the concept .

On the mechanical side, word is that the future NSX will sport a V6 and installed in a rear-midship position. The SH-AWD drivetrain is a given, but would bow here in a much more refined version.  It would feature two electric motors driving the front wheels, and torque management would come from the electronic Torque Vectoring system. The transmission should be a seven-speed double-clutch automated manual.

This new NSX was entirely designed in the United States, where it will in fact be built.
