La Sûreté du Québec campaigning to save lives

This year again, the Sûreté du Quebec deploy a kiosk at the Montreal International Auto Show. Unassuming, it is however of vital importance to anyone wishing to enjoy automobiles for a long time.

The chosen theme this year is: “La ceinture et moi, c’est pour la vie!” (Seat belts and I, for life!). Believe it or not, statistics indicate a lowered use of safety belts amongst ... young people! Knowing 30% of those killed on our roads last year were not wearing a seat belt is alarming.

The kiosk reproduces an infamous accident scene from last summer. Look carefully and you will find telltale evidence pointing towards the cause of the accident. An excellent video reproduces the last moments leading to the impact and shows how technology helps investigators.

Spend a few moments talking to the courteous and outgoing agents at the kiosk and you will meet human beings like you and me who consider any death a dramatic event.
