Shelby 1000 S/C: The super Mustang

Published on March 26, 2013 in New York by The Car Guide

At last year’s New York Auto Show, Shelby American was still mourning the loss of Carroll Shelby, but that didn’t stop the company from unveiling its 950-horsepower 1000 in celebration of the American performance car specialist’s 50th anniversary.

At this year’s New York Auto Show, Shelby is back, this time with the almighty 1000 S/C, which is based on the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500.

This all-American muscle car is powered by a very compelling 5.8-litre V8 that delivers fully 1,200 horsepower.

Shelby plans on producing 100 units of this super Mustang.

How much does this modified 2013 Shelby GT500 cost? $155,000 USD, not counting the cost of the original car. All told, this 1,200-hp speedster will set you back about $210,000 USD.
