Kia’s 2014 Models at the New York Auto Show

While many automakers are only unveiling one new vehicle at the New York Auto Show, Kia is introducing no less than three new products for the 2014 model year.

These are the Kia Forte Koup, Optima and Soul.

2014 Forte Koup

Just like the new Kia Forte5, the Forte Koup is sporting a new grille, which enhances the vehicle with some badly needed machismo.
Under the hood is a 173-horsepower 2.4-litre engine, now the Forte Koup’s entry-level mill. Second in command is a 1.6-litre turbo GDI that delivers 201 horsepower.

2014 Optima

Thid sedan has been treated to some mid-cycle updates, which mostly involve accentuating the European styling and dynamic look of its front and tail ends.

Kia also modified the data display on the 4.3-inch ACL TFT screen. An 8-inch screen is available on option for the navigation and infotainment system.
Three engines

Drivers will have to wait until fall 2013 to take the wheel of the 2014 Kia Optima.

2014 Soul

This is another model that has received a mild facelift when what it really needed was a totally new face.

Nonetheless, it now rests on a more rigid structure. The Soul is also bigger, which means it offers more cargo space and room for your head and legs.

The entry-level engine is still the 1.6-litre four-cylinder GDI that produces 130 horsepower. The other option is also unchanged; it’s the 2.0-litre four-cylinder GDI that delivers 164 horsepower.
