2014 Toyota Corolla Details Leaked

The Parts Center Blog at the Olathe Toyota Center has published some tantalizing details about the upcoming 2014 Toyota Corolla. The re-designed compact sedan, which will replace the aged, yet strong-selling 2013 model, will feature better fuel efficiency thanks to the introduction of variable valve timing and valve lift technology as well as a new continuously-variable automatic transmission.

The Corolla's engine will continue to displace 1.8-litres, and while a six-speed manual gearbox will replace the departing five-speed unit, a four-speed automatic lingers like a spectre on the options sheet for entry-level models. Specifics concerning fuel economy and power have yet to be released, but the Corolla has nowhere to go but up given the middling performance of the existing model.
