Mercedes-Benz Unleashes Glowing Silver Star Emblems

Published on June 7, 2013 in News by Benjamin Hunting

Haven't you always wanted the logo on the front of your car to glow?  Well, Mercedes-Benz is certainly hoping that you do, because the company has made an LED version of its famous Silver Star available as a dealer-installed option on several of its recent models.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, CLS-Class vehicles built between 2006 and 2014, as well as GL-Class (2013-2014) and M-Class (2012-2014) SUVs can all benefit from this new piece of trim.  The LED logo illuminates when owners push the unlock button on their key fobs, and matches the automobile's LED running lights.

Emblem fetishization is a big deal in the luxury world, and the glowing Silver Star would seem to be the next logical extension of that particular focus.  No word on whether blue-and-white Roundel badges or glowing Audi rings will be forthcoming in response.
