Cadillac Pares Future Sedan Offerings To One

Published on July 2, 2013 in News by Benjamin Hunting

Confusing news from Cadillac this morning, with reports that the brand is dropping one high end luxury car from its future plans but keeping another on the front burner.  The victim?  According to the Automotive News, Cadillac has decided against dumping more money into an ultra-high end, Bentley-like automobile that would have cost six figures in the showroom.  Still in the cards is a full-size sedan that will take on the best of what Germany has to offer.

How long do we have to wait for the latter?  It might be 2017 before the rear-wheel drive four-door is built, as it will require a new platform.  The vehicle will take the flagship role due to the elimination of the uber-pricy 'original' flagship model.  The two vehicles were originally going to share the same 'Omega' platform, helping to spread out development costs.
