Jaguar Compact SUV to Premiere at Frankfurt Auto Show

Published on August 6, 2013 in Frankfurt by Gilles Olivier

British manufacturer Jaguar is actively developing two new vehicles, but each will be of paramount importance. We're talking, of course, about an entry level sedan and a compact size SUV.

The compact SUV will have its world premiere in September at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt. We still don’t know if this will be the upcoming presentation of a concept or a production model.

This vehicle will be very compact size similar to the popular Audi Q5, BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLK. In the summer of 2014, the highly anticipated Porsche Macan will also join the frey.

The Jaguar SUV could carry the name XQ or Q-type. The chassis of the compact SUV will also be used for the new compact sedan.

Engines for all tastes

Initially, four additional engines would be found under the hood of the compact SUV:
- 4-cylinder turbocharged 2.0-liter 240 horsepower;
- 4 cylinder diesel 2.2-liter 163 horsepower;
- V6 supercharged 3.0-liter 340 horsepower;
- Diesel 3.0-liter V6 240 horsepower.

Both models will be assembled in developing the Land Rover factory, located in Solihull, England.
