Saab to Start Producing New Vehicles Once Again
The Swedish manufacturer is not dead, having been rescued last year by the National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS).
As its name suggests, NEVS is a company specializing in the development of alternative energies.
Last week, Saab began to gradually hire employees at its industrial complex in Trollhättan. In December 2011, the manufacturer had to end the production of its cars.
The work that awaits these employees begins with restarting assembly lines, purchasing new equipment and ultimately hiring more staff so that operations can be resumed.
Electric cars coming
Before assembling fully electric cars, Saab will produce a 9-3 sedan redesigned by care Yovinn design studio while still powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
In 2014, they hope to offer this new car with an electric motor.
The Saab brand will likely aim to become a manufacturer specializing in the production of environmentally friendly vehicles.

In 2010, at the Paris Auto Show, Saab ePower presented a wagon driven by an electric motor combined with a lithium-ion battery. The engine produces 184 horsepower and the car went from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.5 seconds with a top speed og 150 km / h.
At the time, engineers sought a range of 200 kilometers.
