Porsche shows new 911 and three special editions at the Paris Motor Show
Stuttgart-based Porsche AG will present the new 911 range to the public for the first time at the Paris Motor Show. Also on show are the new Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2, the Cayman S Sport and Cayenne S Transsyberia.
2009 Porsche 911
Following the fastest generation change in the history of Porsche, ten models in the 911 series - ranging from the Carrera Coupé all the way to the Targa 4S - make their appearance in Paris from 4 - 19 October. Subtle design changes cloak important new technology; the latest 911 features engines with Direct Fuel Injection (DFI), further raising the excellent performance and efficiency of Porsche's flat-six. The new engines meet the strictest emission standards and are available with Porsche's new PDK double-clutch gearbox.
The Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 and the Cayman S Sport
Two special editions round off Porsche's range of mid-engined sports cars: offering 303 bhp from 3.4 litres, the Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 and the Cayman S Sport deliver eight horsepower more than the "S" models on which they are based. Both cars come with a wide range of exclusive features. Limited to a production run of just 500 units, the Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 comes all in white. The Cayman S Sport, limited to just 700 units, comes in a choice six special non-metallic colours, including the green and orange featured on the latest 911 GT3 RS and includes Porsche Active Suspension Management.
The Cayenne S Transsyberia
Like the robust Cayenne models entered in the Transsyberia Rally from Moscow to the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator, the road-going version is based on the Cayenne S with its 4.8-litre V8 featuring Porsche's fuel-efficient Direct Fuel Injection. Its engine is from the Cayenne GTS, developing 405 bhp and peak torque of 369 lb-ft.
