The full-size Acura RLX sedan, which has just undergone a major overhaul, will soon be available in hybrid version.

This vehicle will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Three electric motors

The engineers didn’t spare any expense, because the car will receive three electric motors.

In SH-AWD all-wheel drive, the RLX is powered by an i-VTEC 3.5-liter V6 mated with a trio of electric motors. A double clutch seven-speed automatic transmission is available.

In total, the hybrid engine has an output of 377 horsepower for a power balance of 7.8 L/100 km.

The Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD will hit showrooms by the end in 2014.
