Ford will be debuting a concept of the next generation model of its popular crossover, the Edge, during the Los Angeles International Auto Show which opens next week, according to Autoblog.com.

The Edge has been around since the 2007 model year and received a mid-cycle refresh for 2011.

The Ford Edge will be exported to a number of markets around the world. Last September, Ford announced an expansion at the Oakville, Canada assembly plant that builds the Edge meaning more Canadian jobs.

The Edge is based on Ford’s  D3 platform which is actually shared with the larger Mazda CX-9. Engine options are a 2.0-Litre Ecoboost inline 4-cylinder with 240 horsepower and a 3.7-litre Duratec V6 making 305 horsepower. No word on if any of these choices will be changed for 2015.
