Volkswagen Recalls 2.6 Million Vehicles

Published on November 18, 2013 in Recalls by Gilles Olivier

After massive recalls from General Motors in the 2000s and Toyota in 2010, it’s now Volkswagen’s turn to voluntarily recall 2.6 million vehicles worldwide.

The majority of them are models sold in China.

Among the problems identified the recalls consist of:

- 800 000 Volkswagen Tiguans affected by lighting problems;
- 1.6 million vehicles for defective synthetic oil;
- 239,000 Amarok trucks for fragile fuel lines.

In addition to the Volkswagen Tiguan and Amarok, the Beetle, Golf, Lavida and Passat are also affected by this recall.

Some Audi, SEAT and Skoda models are also destined to be part of the batch of recalled models.
