Jaguar F-Type Coupe: The F-Type Covers Itself

Published on November 21, 2013 in Los Angeles by Gilles Olivier

Up till now, the Jaguar F-Type was only offered as a roadster. Next year, a superb coupe will join the model range.

Yesterday in Los Angeles, the British manufacturer presented its new coupe, a seductive sports car that inherits the curves of the C-X16 concept.

The F-Type Coupe will be offered in three versions: base, S and R. The base and S models share the engines of the equivalent roadster trims, meaning supercharged 3.0 litre V6s putting out 340 and 380 horses respectively. While the roadster line-up is topped by the V8S version (with a 5.0 litre V8 making 495 hp and 460 lb-pi), the Coupe will receive the same V8, but pushed up to 550 hp and 405 lb-pi (well, 404.5 lb-ft to be precise). Only one transmission will be available for all trims, an 8-speed automatic.
