Alfa Romeo Will Add Four New Models

During a recent interview given to the magazine Automotive News, Sergio Marchionne, the head honcho of Fiat-Chrysler, said that the Alfa Romeo lineup will be expanded by four new models.

Currently, the Italian manufacturer has only three models: the Alfa Romeo MiTo, the Giulietta and the 4C, which will soon be joined by the Giulia, available in sedan and wagon versions.

A common platform

We also learn that some Alfa Romeo models to come will be developed on a new platform, currently used in the design of future Chrysler 300s, Dodge Challengers and Dodge Chargers. It’s a platform which can to accommodate both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive vehicles.

Among the future Alfa Romeo models we’ll find a premium sedan and a mid-sized crossover.

It’s still a question whether Alfa Romeo will sell cars in North America again but the new models would seem to indicate the brand is leaning in that direction.
