Mary Barra Named CEO of General Motors
The board of General Motors has named Mary Barry as the company’s next CEO. Barry’s prior position at the American auto giant was chief of product development.
The info comes from a source who didn’t want to be identified prior to a formal announcement being made. GM is expected to make an official announcement later Tuesday.

As the senior vice president for global product development Barra was in charge of design, engineering and quality of GM vehicles worldwide. She’s also in charge of purchasing and had previously been the head of human resources operations at the company.
The 51-year-old first joined GM as an engineering co-op student in 1980.
