Lexus Ups the Ante with the RC F

Published on December 23, 2013 in Detroit by Gilles Olivier

Earlier this year in Tokyo, Lexus unveiled its beautiful RC Coupe which will make its way to dealer showrooms in 2014.

In Detroit, it is expected to unveil the "F" version of the car which will be sportier and more luxurious. For now, the manufacturer has simply released two little teaser photos. This car is essential if Lexus wants to compete with Audi A5, BMW 4 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, all of which have high performance versions.

Two engines

The Lexus RC 350 Coupe will be powered by a 300 horsepower 3.5-litre V6, while the RC 300h hybrid powertrain will generate 220 horsepower.

To these would join the RC F power plant with an output of around 455 horsepower.
