VW Beetle R-Line Cabriolet: Turbo and Wind in the Hair

Published on January 16, 2014 in Montreal by Jean-Charles Lajeunesse

Want the performance of the R-Line 210 horsepower turbocharged engine but find the coupe even with a sunroof too claustrophobic? Then how about no roof at all? The 2014 Beetle Cabriolet line-up offers the R-Line with all the features and options available on the regular Beetle R-Line except of course, the sunroof.

As in the sedan, the base R-Line comes with the new 18-inch alloy wheels; sport suspension, front fog lights, cloth sport seats and R-Line door sill kick plates.

Upgrading to the Sound package adds the keyless entry, Fender premium audio with touchscreen and multi-function trip computer. The ultimate package, named Sound and Navigation, adds the touchscreen navigation system, leather seating surfaces, 19-inch alloy wheels; Bi-Xenon headlights with LED DRLs.

Gearbox possibilities follow that of the sedan with the six-speed manual standard and the six-speed DSG® dual-clutch automatic transmission optional.
