Cadillac Aiming for Upwards of 10% Growth in 2014

Cadillac wants to increase its sales in the U.S. by ten percent or more in 2014 and intends to accomplish this feat with the release of at least three new or newly-redesigned models.

According to Automotive News, Senior VP of Cadillac Bob Ferguson spoke to reporters after a dealer meeting and said the message was all about growth and predicted the double-digit figure.

In 2013 Cadillac has a 22% increase in U.S. sales and another double digit year might be hard to achieve given that light vehicle sales are only projected to increase by 3-5%.

One of the new models for 2014 is the ELR plug-in hybrid, which just became available this month. Special tooling is required at dealers to handle this vehicle but many already have the capacity since they also sell the Chevrolet Volt - the car which the ELR is based on. Another would be the brand new 2015 Cadillac Escalade which should start arriving in dealerships in the second quarter.
