Jeep Laredo to be Produced in Italy?

Up until now, all indications were pointing to a name of “Junior” or perhaps “Jeepster” for the new small SUV currently under development by Jeep.

That may no longer be the case because according to the latest rumors on the web, it could be called Laredo. The Grand Cherokee Laredo was a very popular variation of their larger SUV in North America.

It also remains unclear whether this name will only be for the European version of the vehicle as North American markets could still retain the name Jeepster.

Both will be assembled in the Melfi, Italy plant along with its cousin, the Fiat 500X.

According to information received, the unveiling and world premiere of the subcompact Jeep is expected next month at the Geneva Motor Show. Fiat fans will have to wait until September’s Paris Motor Show to see the Fiat 500X.
