Ferrari 149M Project to be Revealed Next Week

Published on February 4, 2014 in Geneva by Danny Geraghty

The reveal of the next generation Ferrari California is set for February 12th, 2014 ahead of its world premiere scheduled for the Geneva Motor Show in March.

The new vehicle is called project 149M at the moment, the “M” standing for modified. An image has been circulating the web of a hard top version of the current California so we don’t know what exactly the final product will be at this point.

What we do know is that the motor will be getting a boost. The current California employs a 4.3-litre 454 horsepower V8 engine. The 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 from the Maserati Quattroporte will likely be used instead, with power increased to 550hp.

The interior is said to have been redesigned with a new dash and new multimedia system. The exterior might follow the lines of the FF or F12 Berlinetta.

Production will be starting soon after the Geneva Motor Show.
