Diesel-Powered BMW X3 For Chicago

The German manufacturer has announced a diesel engine version of its X3 SUV for release in North America.

The vehicle made its North American debut at the Chicago Auto Show, alongside the 740Ld xDrive sedan.

The BMW X3 xDrive 28d is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo with 180 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The motor is coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

As for performance, it goes from 0 to 96 km/h in less than 8 seconds.

The car will make its way into dealer showrooms as early as this spring.
