2014 Mercedes-Benz GLA: We're Driving It This Week!

Today, all the luxury brands are offering new compact models in an attempt to attract new customers. As of summer 2014, Mercedes-Benz will be pitting its new GLA against the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and others. Built on the same platform as the Mercedes-Benz A Class, B Class and the recent CLA, the GLA’s stunning good looks are a cut above the GLK—not to mention that it is much more aerodynamic.

In North America, the GLA will be powered by a 208-horsepower 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that connects to a 4Matic all-wheel drive system by way of a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Meanwhile, the GLA 45AMG will feature a 360-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder, in addition to 19-inch alloy wheels and a much more aggressive style. The Acura RDX, BMW X1 and Land Rover Range Rover Evoque had better watch their backs.

We’ll be driving both of these models soon in Costa del Sol, Spain.
