Toyota Unveils the Highlander Hybrid and Tacoma X-Runner

At the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto, Toyota has unveiled the 2014 Highlander Hybrid and 2014 Tacoma X-Runner models.

The 2014 Toyota Highlander Hybrid

It prides itself on being the first hybrid seven-passenger SUV in the world. It can be had in LE, XLE and Limited trims.

Its hybrid powertrain includes a 3.5-litre V6 engine combined with an electric motor – a massive torque generator to optimize both power and fuel economy of the vehicle.

Toyota Canada also took the opportunity to unveil the starting price which is as follows: $43,720 for the LE version, $46,145 for the XLE model and $52,695 for the Limited.

The Toyota Tacoma X -Runner

The X-Runner prides itself as being the most hip version of the mid-size pickup.

Visibly oriented towards high performance, it was given a 4.0-litre V6 engine delivering 236 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard.

Its combined fuel consumption rating is 11.4 L/100 km.

The Tacoma X-Runner will hit dealer showrooms across Canada in about a month.
