Volkswagen T-ROC Concept

Published on March 3, 2014 in Geneva by Gilles Olivier

At the New Delhi Auto Show, Volkswagen introduced a second version of its Taigun prototype giving us a glimpse of a new urban SUV for emerging markets. In Geneva we'll get a chance to see another urban SUV called the T–ROC which is destined for North American markets and slated to enter the lineup below the Tiguan.

The overall length of the Volkswagen Tiguan is 4427 mm, while the T-ROC is 4180 mm.

Dynamic Profile

The Volkswagen Taigun aims to become a five-door urban SUV while the T-ROC is content with only three doors. The little urban adventurer has a front section that is reminiscent of its main rival-to-be, the Nissan Juke.

With flared fenders, wheels pushed toward the extremities and a floating roof, the SUV has a very menacing look to it.

No Mystery Under The Hood

The Volkswagen T-ROC will be offered with the Golf GTD motor: a 2.0-litre four cylinder TDI generating 184 horsepower. Everything is connected to a DSG dual-clutch transmission with seven speeds. The vehicle also has the 4MOTION system, exclusive to Volkswagen.
