SsangYong Concept XLV: European Vision

Published on March 5, 2014 in Geneva by Gilles Olivier

Since you probably haven’t heard of this vehicle before, we’ll mention that Ssangyong is a South Korean brand belonging to the Indian manufacturer Mahindra.

In Geneva, they have unveiled the eXciting smart Life Vehicle concept.

It is a mid-sized crossover vehicle with very modern amenities and all the attributes necessary to be sold in Western markets.

It’s versatile enough to accommodate up to seven passengers in a variety of configurations, including an innovative 2 +2 +2 +1 layout.

The hybrid powertrain consists of a 1.6-litre four-cylinder diesel engine combined with a 10 kW electric motor that draws its energy from a high-capacity lithium-ion battery.

Representatives of the brand confirmed production will start next year on a model based on this concept. We expect a toned-down interior for the production model.
