Will We Soon See Chevrolet Tahoe SS, RS Models?

General Motors has just released their new 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban models and the rumors are already starting about high performance versions.

At the 2013 SEMA show we saw the Tahoe Black Concept on display which was essentially just a Tahoe with blacked-out lights, a special lip kit, lowered suspension, custom leather interior and 22-inch rims. That’s all fine and dandy but unless you have the time and money to customize your truck using aftermarket parts, you’re stuck with the standard models for now.

All that might change, however, because Car and Driver is reporting that Chevy spokesman Michael Albano told them they’re looking at "developing variants of existing products that appeal to consumers and build on our performance heritage."

It’s likely the new trim would be RS or even SS. If it’s the latter then expect a more powerful motor under the hood to keep with tradition. The current engine is a 5.3-litre V-8 making 355 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque.
