'Evolutionary' Chevrolet Camaro Coming in 2016

Edmunds is reporting that the next generation Chevrolet Camaro will be unveiled at the next Detroit Auto Show in January 2015 and feature “evolutionary” styling.

The quote comes from one of their sources who goes on to say that the new Camaro will be “not drastically different” and look like a “worked-over” current model Camaro.

Read of that what you will but it doesn’t sound like there will be much difference between the two versions - at least aesthetically speaking.

Mechanically, however, the 2016 Camaro will use GM’s Alpha platform and has been significantly re-engineered. That platform is currently used by the Cadillac ATS and CTS models. The major downside for Canadians is that it means they had to ship Camaro production from the Oshawa plant to the Lansing, Michigan plant where the Cadillacs are made.

Expect the new 2016 Camaro to hit dealer showrooms during 2015.
