Cadillac Unveils the ATS Coupe
With the Cadillac ATS, GM has finally built a vehicle that can survive the tough comparison with the best intermediate luxury sedans (BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4 and Lexus IS, for example). Since the competition offers coupe versions, it was only logical that Cadillac would follow suit. As for a wagon version, there isn’t much hope.
First shown in Detroit, the final specifications for the ATS Coupe were unveiled today. To differentiate itself from the sedan, the Coupe received numerous changes:

- It keeps the same wheelbase, at 2776 mm, but it is now 2 cm larger and 28 mm lower. According to Cadillac’s engineers, this gives the car superior handling and better stability at high speed.
- Even with the same wheelbase, the Coupe is 2 cm longer than its sibling. This is caused by the sleek look of the car, created with completely different body panels than the sedan.
- Just like the sedan, the Coupe will be offered in rear and all-wheel drive configurations, and will be available with either a 3.6L V6 or a 2L turbo four-cylinder. The 2.5L atmospheric engine is not part of the trip for this car.
The price for all of these changes? The American version starts at $38,990, which is about $42,500 in Canadian money. The beautiful Cadillac is scheduled to arrive at the end of summer.
The German luxury coupes better start looking in their mirrors, Cadillac is coming!
