Audi A3 Clubsport Quattro Concept Shown Ahead of Wörthersee

Each year, Austrians welcome the Wörthersee Tour, one of the major events for VAG product enthusiasts across Europe. Not only is this the place to show off your ride, but the manufacturers usually bring their most radical concepts, since they are assured of a positive reaction!

A couple months ago, the Volkswagen R400 was unveiled in New York. At the time, a lot of people asked themselves how Audi would let VW sell a car that could easily beat its car in the segment. After all, Audi is supposed to be the top brand, performance-wise…

The answer from Audi came a couple days ago, just ahead of its official release at the Wörthersee Tour. While it’s named the A3 Clubsport Quattro Concept, there is a big chance this is a disguised next-generation RS3. It is based on the A3 sedan, but where the standard car is powered by a 2 liter turbo four-cylinder, the A3 Clubsport uses a turbocharged 5-cylinder good for 525 HP and 442 lb-ft of torque!

To make sure that the Clubsport can not only go fast in a straight line, but also turn and stop, Ingolstadt engineers also installed a sport suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes and 21 inch wheels fitted with sport tires. Those upgrades allow the car to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, before accelerating all the way to 305 km/h.

If you want to know more about this German hot-rod, you will be able to see all about it at the Wörthersee Tour, open to the public from May 28 to 31!
