Forza Horizon 2 is Coming to Xbox One
Each year, E3 is the go-to event for video game fans. Held in Los Angeles, every major player in the industry has to be there. This year, the second game in the Forza Horizon series was unveiled, creating quite a commotion among car fans.
The first Forza Horizon was an instant hit. The recipe was quite simple: take the basic handling and graphics engine from Forza Motorsport 4 (one of the most polished on the market) and simplify it to put less emphasis on fine-tuning every aspect of the vehicles and more on driving flat-out over country roads and fields.

Horizon 2 will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, but will improve on it: the game will be based on Forza Motorsport 5, and will take place in Southern Europe. It is an open-world game, meaning that if you want to smash into a fence and drift through some poor Italian’s backyard to overtake an opponent, you can!
A new weather system has also been implemented, which will add realism by simulating reduced traction on wet surfaces. While I won’t go into details, each drop of rain is simulated in real-time, meaning that no two storms will have the same effect on the environment!
The car roster will be filled with over 200 cars on day one. From the Lamborghini Huracan to the McLaren P1 and from the Plymouth Hemi Cuda to the F-150 Raptor, there will be something for everyone.
Speaking of cars, the work that goes into putting only one vehicle into the game is phenomenal. According to the developers, the 3D modelling is so complex that the data manufacturers use to create their vehicles is not good enough. And to make matters worse, they say that automakers sometime exaggerate their horsepower rating and downsize their car’s weight. This means that they had to weigh and dyno test every vehicle in the game.
Forza Horizon 2 will be available for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on September 30th.
